Presearing... I almost quit when the searing happened, but was happy I stuck it through

the first time i reached The Vault that and the The Hall of Heroes has to be some of the most beautiful areas in guild wars

you get to enjoy the scenery in the vault but as far as the hall itself if you "stop to smell the flowers" so to speak you cost your team the win

I would have to say my "wow" moment would be when I first stepped into the burning forest in Sacnoth Valley, doing the Rose Focus quest. That place looks so much more graphically advanced than most, if not all, places in gw.

I would have to say my first "wow" moment was when I walked out of the portal from Ascalon City (in pre) and got my first real look at the game's scenery. It was a total OMG moment. Totally different from Diablo 2 (my only other MMo)
My second real "wow" moment was the first time an ecto dropped for me in UW while i was doing a regular NM clear with 7 guild members. The very first drop was an ecto, and it was all mine. ^_^

^^this and the first time I seen the Minotar / Griffon farm with warrior, a guild mate at the time took me to Elona Reach and proceded to enter the mission, of course I was like lol what just the 2 of us? He told me to wait by the gate, so I did while he ran down the hill, aggroed all the minos, and stood there and killed them all. That was my first time seeing sum1 solo a large group of enemies. That was a wow moment for me.

This.

I was absolutely blown away by pre-searing. It's one of the most well designed, beautiful areas (Especially for a starter area) I've seen in any MMO/MMO-esque game I've ever played.

Watching the cutscene, I didn't really have an idea that the Charr had impacted Ascalon as deeply and terribly as they did.

The second Post loaded... it was a wow moment.

This too. For being a burning wasteland, there's a profound beauty in the destruction. The tiny details really make it. I'm especially fond of the tiny embers trickling down from the sky. I hadn't thought of it until I read this post, but, it really is a unique and amazing area.

Factions was the first storyline I was introduced to. The first "wow" moment I can recall was when I finally made it to the mainland and was so surprised at how the setting looked like Kowloon City:

Really wasn't expecting that one. Also, some of the monoliths and statues randomly scattered throughout the landscapes.

Sacnoth Valley & Dalada Uplands. For me it hapened to get there soon after i first ever got to Lion's Arch. Seeing that after Prophecies , was really a big step up in graphics , so it might have altered my view on the rest of the game forever. I was the main course in the menu for mandragors and other stuff for a long time , looking at that forest, mountains and using ctrl+alt+h in first person mode all the time.

I have to say my wow moment was stepping into the world of faction guilds.

I had never seen so many players come together for so long, for a common cause, and it really impressed me. Also, the epic war theme was something I really like to this day. the day I realized I truely loved the game more than warcraft was the night I, along with 6 guildies, pulled an all nighter to get Anjekas shrine, which felt like an amazing accomplishment that was a true team effort.

Faction guilds are different entities now, people enter, max, and go back to the real communities they consider themselves a part of. Really sad to see that go, but I still play the faction competitives and AB for fun hoping for something comparable in gw2, although kurz/lux will be gone sadly.

I nearly quit over that.

"What? You mean I was in a little tiny area of map? This is the real map? It looks like complete crap! I want to go back!"

Probably more or less what every newborn infant is thinking, too.

What made me wow was playing and finding out that power wasn't determined majorly by what items I was wearing. It didn't matter if someone had super ultra badass armor because his stats couldn't carry him! I was overjoyed and for the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed PvP in an MMO.

Of course I should also mention that the game ran so smoothly. I could run everything on high with the exception of AA with my crummy old computer and still get a decent 30 FPS.

When I was playing the beta and saw a stone summit beast master for the first time, I was thinking, "Holy shit I am so gonna buy this game!"
